Level 1: The "Right Now" Mechanic
The verb "to be" (is/am/are) must always come before the main verb. The main verb must always end in "-ing." This tense is used only for actions occurring at this exact moment or around now (temporary actions). Time markers that signal this tense: now, right now, at the moment, today, this week (when temporary). Spelling rules for adding "-ing": Most verbs: just add "-ing" (walk → walking) Verbs ending in silent "e": drop the "e" and add "-ing" (dance → dancing) Short vowel + one consonant: double the consonant and add "-ing" (run → running, swim → swimming)
